Ahmed fears the worst. He doesn’t want to end up like his father. And to him, he’s heading in that direction. Ahmed was born a single child. His mother, Karen Yung, died while giving birth to him, so he was raised by his father. Born in the mid-‘80s amidst the crack epidemic, Ahmed’s father, Gary Yung, was a big-time hustler. He never hid anything from Ahmed. Drugs, guns, women, the whole lifestyle -- everything was on front street.

One summer afternoon in 1995, Gary took Ahmed on one of his routine drop-offs in Yonkers. This was nothing new to Ahmed. By this time, he knew exactly what his father was into. Pulling up to an old house on Warburton Avenue, Gary told Ahmed he’d be right back. After waiting two hours in the car, Ahmed heard several gunshots from inside the house. He saw two guys and a female come running out. Ahmed, not knowing what’s going on, goes inside the house to find his father laying dead on the floor in the living room. From that day on, he knew it was him against the world.

At 11 years old, Ahmed turned to the streets with the determination to never again depend on someone else. He started out bagging groceries at the A&P Supermarket. After sneaker money wasn’t enough, he graduated to the illegal life of drug dealing. He was 12 years old when he became a runner for Pop. And by 15, he was controlling his hood. That’s when the drama started.

Ahmed, Fame and Tye Cash sit at the kitchen table breaking down the birds. When it’s all said and done, they have 250 kilos of cocaine, an extra 50 kilos from the stretch. Fame calls Black, Esco and C-Lo in to discuss how they’re going to move the weight. Ahmed tells Fame that Flaco is on his way up from North Carolina to get 50 joints. He’s going to give them to him for 10 thousand a bird. The rest they’re going to let go for 18 a piece. Black, Esco and C-Lo are each going to take 50 birds to their out-of-town spots and move them for however much they want. The overall profit should be somewhere around $4 million or more, give or take a couple of losses.

On the highway going back uptown, Ahmed, Fame and Cash are in the S550 while Black, Esco and C-Lo ride in C-Lo’s Porsche truck. They make it back to the hood in time to catch the last of the family day cookout that takes place every year. The projects are packed with people. Everyone who hasn’t seen each other in years meet up on this day. Ahmed and his peoples are the talk of the town as the two whips pull into the parking lot. Two minutes later, a white Corvette pulls up next to C-Lo’s Porsche and Gutta hops out. Gutta’s from the other side of town. Him and his crew also get money. He and Ahmed always used to compete on who’s getting the most guap.
